How do we tackle cancer in kids and teens? What are the differences between children’s cancers and adult’s cancers? What are the big research challenges we face at the moment? Join us for a Cancer Research UK and Science on Google+ Hangout on Air as we speak to Professor Pamela Kearns and Professor +Richard Gilbertson about childhood cancers.
Pam is a Professor of Clinical Paediatric Oncology at the University of Birmingham. She is also the Director of the Cancer research UK Clinical Trials Unit, which is one of the largest cancer trials units in the UK. Her research focuses on the development of new therapies for childhood leukaemias. Richard is a world renowned expert in childhood brain tumours, and is the new director of the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute. He has led international efforts that have dramatically advanced our understanding of the biology of several common childhood brain tumours.
This HOA will be hosted by Dr Buddhini Samarasinghe and Dr Kat Arney You can tune in on Wednesday September 23rd at 4 PM UK time. The hangout will be available for viewing on our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/ScienceHangouts) after the event.
Um not so sure that there is a cure,, um we can do one thing. That one
thing is that for us to be a friend, as Robin Williams says laughter is the
cure for a sickness.

Stop feeding kids with GMO and other artificially manipulated and overprocessed food..
We all need clean air and water and among other “activities” must stop building cell towers..
Our industrial mode of life effects precious life, not only human, but all kinds of forms of life that is struggling to our survive artificially “created” human-monstrosity. (just naming a few of them living in the cities: birds, bees, plants, pets..)
Hope some day sciences will become more PROFESSIONAL , means Independent from being controlled by their “sponsoring” and shamelessly ignorant commercial mass producers, and governments. Hopefully some day researchers will begin to learn, as everyone in all schools, how to take Full Responsibility for what we do in labs.. How much harm we humans cause to people, and nature?? Our ultimate teacher that does not belong to any human society is Nature but we do still not understand its Laws.
The lab and other research “discoveries” are not just “exciting” advertisement and popculture’s entertainment. True sciences shall be protected from money manipulations.
