Alya Red: A Computational Heart

Alya Red: A Computational Heart

“No man-made structure is designed like a heart. Considering the highly sophisticated engineering evidenced in the heart, it is not surprising that our understanding of it comes so slowly”. – Daniel D. Streeter Jr.

Alya Red: A Computational heart combines illustration, three-dimensional renderings and live-action video to describe the basic science of the heart in easy-to-understand language. The video won top honors in the video category as well as a People’s Choice award for the 2012 International Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge.
