Hangout with CERN every Thursday at 5pm CET (UTC+1)
CERN is a European organization located near Geneva and is one of the world’s largest centers for scientific research on fundamental physics–finding out what the Universe is made of and how it works. It includes the popular Large Hadron Collider, the world’s largest and highest-energy particle accelerator, 27 kilometers in circumference.
Earlier today, particle physicist Steven Goldfarb of ATLAS Experiment gave a 10-minute preview of their new weekly Google+ show.
He quickly shows the CERN visitor center, the cosmic ray lobby floor, the Standard Model coffee mugs (of course), and then briefly chats about what CERN is and what to expect with upcoming CERN G+ Hangouts.
As Steve says, please feel free to send in your questions, comments, and/or suggestions via carrier pigeon 🙂
