Science Profiles and Pages
This is the first of many circles coming out of the Science on Google+: A Public Database page. As the database grows, the circles will become more specific. Help spread the word by sharing this with your friends.
If you have a science related degree, you are a science journalist, or you curate a science page, then add your profile/page to the database (http://goo.gl/vOJoN).

Thanks for the include 🙂

I don’t think so! Why must my criteria meet yours! Some learning you don’t get from books or teachers, they make them bias!

what about any climate and atmospheric scientists with all the daily news of extreme weather events going on as well the political hot potato discussion of climate change and its implications?

Brian Gauspohl I think Azimuth might be the kind of page with scientific news that you are looking for about climate change and other problems that our planet is facing.

Rajini Rao Regarding the suggestion from Tony Silva: Would it be possible to add people, who mainly post in another language than English in a separate circle? Otherwise, everyone who adds the circle(s) would have to delete all the people manually, who post in a language, they don’t understand. At least from my point of view it seems a lot easier to check a separate “non-english” circle to find the few people who post in German in case I want content in my native language.

Anja Austermann- Database/circle management is currently a nightmare. When things settle down, I will try to figure something out. Can you use google chrome? It should automatically translated the page.
Tony Silva- Feel free to add pages (not profiles) to the database. Here’s the form, http://goo.gl/Yz8KR

Anja Austermann as Chris Robinson said, if you use Chrome here’s the extension to have a translate button for each post and comment.

Don’t understand your question, Marc Paul Rubin .

Has anyone had consistent success with using automated methods of translation for scientific content? (Hope this clarifies my prior question, which was an attempt to be concise.) My experiments using Google Translate have left a lot to be desired, in both accuracy and clarity.

Hi Marc Paul Rubin. I sometimes use Google Chrome to translate a profile/page but never for scientific content. It does a decent job for me.

Thanks Chris Robinson, the context here is that some commenters suggested automatic translation for reading posts from this circle. Presumably those posts would contain significant scientific content.
